Enable SMS for your reminder plan

Using SMS reminders helps your messages stand out in customers’ mobile inboxes, ensuring they receive your reminders immediately on their devices.

Requirements

To send SMS reminders, you need:

  1. A registered SMS sender (Sender ID / number) for each country you want to send to: Learn how to register a sender: Register an SMS sender.

  2. Customer phone number + SMS opt-in (where required): SMS can only be sent if the order has a valid phone number and local regulations allow messaging.

  3. (Only relevant for old customers) An active plan with usage charges: SMS are charged per use therefore you need a plan which accepts usage charges. Manage your plan in Kindly > Account.

How to set up SMS reminders

Follow these steps to enable SMS reminders in your reminder plan:

You can leave the autopilot for your reminder plan enabled as SMS will only be used for new unpaid orders.

Go to Reminder plan and click edit to view the reminder plan settings. If you don’t have a reminder plan yet, read this doc on how to create your first reminder plan.

Scroll down to find the SMS sending option. Enable SMS sending and choose the sending logic.

Click Edit template to open the SMS template editor. Customize the text of your reminders and add personalizations using the options at the bottom right. Save your changes when done.

If the autopilot is not already enabled you can now enable it to send reminders automatically.
